Djamy Layone ''Quick Chat'' Interview Mohamed BAMBA, aka Djamy Layone, is an Ivorian-Belgian multidisciplinary artist. Based in Liège, Belgium, for over ten years he has explored the boundaries between sound, matter, and identity through an artistic practice that combines music, visual arts, and living poetry. Fueled by a cultural mix that he claims as a creative force, his approach is both introspective and committed, rooted in a desire for transmission, intercultural dialogue, and memorial restoration. A self-taught musician, Djamy Layone has developed his own musical style, called Wara Muzik, a blend of R&B, rap, reggae dancehall, traditional West African rhythms, and intuitive and ambient electronic music. The messages, sung in French, English, and Malinke vernacular languages, touch on positive themes such as love, peace, resilience, courage, and unity, suitable for both young and adult audiences.
